So what's your experience with the different mouthpieces?

Hello Tseligas

It took me quite some time to catch up with all the posts.

I hope I can add to the conversation about mouthpieces.
I use Van Dorens
B45
B45*
B46
5Jb

Reeds

VanDoren 1.5
Mitchell Laurie 2.0 (shaved)
Le Voz
Hot and Swing (French) 1.0

Here is where it gets tricky. What combination of clarinet make, mouthpiece and reed gives the best sound (for demotika)??

Remember, I play mostly with Boehm and my favourite combination
is the Buffet La with 5JB and Hot and swing reed number 1.0.

On an Albert (buffet), the most common combination is a B45 and a hot and swing
number 1.

On the Selmer, I use a B45 with a VanDoren 1.5.

Tseligas - I agree- if possible move posts from elsewhere to where they should be.

I would also like to add that if possible use a good ligature for an improvement
in "your" sound.

I use a Rovner and it does indeed make a difference to sound produced.

I would also recommend that an individual use a synthetic reed when
practicing to save on reeds. I use a Legere #2 and it does not require
moisture, shaving, sanding etc. It also blows free without having to warm up.
Even when the clarinet is cold it produces a good sound.
The only drawback is that they are expensive - they run between $25-$40 depending on where they are purchased.

I usually have 4 or 5 reeds that are ready to play after I have worked on them
to the point of being very responsive and great sounding.
