if clarinets are use regularly do they dry out ??

yes they could in theory in the cold weather. A simple quick solution is use the silk swab and cover the clarinet before closing case end of use.

Has anyone else heard that clarinet wood is waterproof? (Probably to some degree?) Like it has waxed that render it waterproof?
