Check this out folks:

Testing of 4 clarinets to see if they are in tune!

This video shows you the variability of the clarinet. It is impossible for a clarinet to be 100% in tune like a guitar for example or a a piano.

That is because if the way it is built and because of the inherent variability of ones mask (embouchure).

That's why you should ALWAYS Daily practice long notes with a tuner....

Very interesting video!!!

Also he uses a hard reed i suppose,which helps a lot to tune a clarinet better than thin reeds we use in our folk music.Despite that we can see,especially on lower notes,that the needle goes crazy sometimes :p

This video made me feel so much better regarding my clarinet !!! I always thought that it was way too sensitive!!
