Dear all,

I hope you all enjoy this free lesson and especially the requester!
Cool
Also visit the website under Backing Tracks

http://www.klarinogreek.com/content/en/B...Tracks.php

to download a simple and nice tsifteteli Beat for practicing.

Also I found here a very nice article on the scale that this song was written on:
It is called Sabax. (Article is in Greek)

http://www.klika.gr/cms/index.php/peri-m...sabax.html
I almost forgot, Here are the chords and lyrics for the song. Credit goes to http://www.kithara.to

Note that you need to transpose it a few notes up if you want to match what I am playing in the video.!

F#m E A

I almost forgot... here is the video:
Tseligas - very nice

I have enclosed the Sabah scale(from D) for those that are interested.

D E F F# A Bb C D

BTW - The clarinet player is using an Albert and if you are using a Boehm
be aware that he is confusing F with F#. Whenever he says F it is an F# on
the Boehm system.
Niaven,

If I am not mistaken sabah is a bit peculiar and from Re is like this:
D E F F# A Bb C C#
(only difference is the C#)

Am I right?
It is a bit challenging to play it on a Bb clarinet starting from D.

In the recording I play it from Si.

Where do you play it from Niaven??

See the attached file too. A friend sent it to me. It has the Sabah starting from all notes.

Hello Tseligas. Generally, I play from A because I favour Tsamika. However, If really like a song I will practice from
all notes A through G and from the different registers. Trying playing Farmaki Ligo Ligo from the various notes - at a minimum
from G A B and C. Most Tsiftetelia are played from E. Of course, a piece will be played for the singer and his or her range.

Here are all the scales. Pick your favourite.

Niaven you are doing the right thing there! I do that too from time to time. I want to get to the point where I can play anything from everywhere..haha.. not sure if anybody has achieved that.

The thing that kills me is that whenever I join a band without rehearsal they will manage to start the songs from weird notes for the clarinet. For example the play from E ....we got to play from F# and that messes up everything. I got so many funny stories with this situation...

Btw is there a device that can transpose the sound of the clarinet? I know that for midi that is straight forward but for a live sound and not digital have you heard anything like that?
Oh tseligas !!! So many Sharps #### :-)))) hahaha
I like so much better naturals .....!!!
Thank you by the way!!! Very detailed lesson!
hi, tseligas is it possible for you to post the sheet music, thank's eeze.
