niaven , 3 players , same song same notes , but each one puts their own soul into it , you can have 1 teacher 5 students getting taught the same song and each ones version will differ ,each one is correct as long as you are in time . (on the beat )

niaven Wrote:Comments on their styles? Aristopoulos plays a unique "Ilios"! and he kind of follows the "laiko" style dimotika. With some hints of tsifteteli or middle eastern in his playing. Arkadopoulos is one of the most traditional players. His playing mimics the old guard!! Let's not forget of course who his teacher was!! Plastiras....great talent of course. Not a huge fan of the uber -echo echo echo echo echoRepeat! And that song : Ego eimai i Vlaha is amazing....Actually it is from Peloponissos from my roots... If I had to choose amongst the three for a teacher....I would probably choose Arkadopoulos cause he is closer to the "old sound" Your thoughts friends?

all of the old timers 30,s &40 ,s have that same style of playing , in the early 1950 s a clarinet player (kirgiakakis) broke the mold ,,started playing a different style that led to todays style of playing .

Which is harder to blow? A short or a long clarinet??????????
March 12th, 2013, 19:02
leventis, the longer the clarinet the more air you need ,so it is harder to blow ,also youre fingers are more spread apart , if you have extra long skinny fingers the sol might be playable , if you have short stocky fingers , do and b flat would work okay , you might get to play a LA clarino , the longer a clarinet the more spread out the holes are .for me the DO and b flat are comfortale, the la so,so and the sol forget it

hello niaven , thanks for the input, you have to keep experimenting to find the right combo
